George's Marvelous Medicine

Reading is mad work now. When I was a kid I loved to read. I read all the time. My favorite books were the Roald Dahl series. All of his books were so interesting because of his usage of imagery. My favorite book by Roald Dahl is George's marvelous Medicine. I will always love that book because it defined my identity as a reader. I only love to read books that immediately catch my attention. If the book starts off boring, then I'll just put it down. My goals for this blog is to blog about books that I have finished reading because I haven't finished book since like freshmen year. Also if I read something online that I think is funny I am going to post it on my blog. I love to laugh and so should other people when they view my blog.

  1. I totally agree with you. Reading is so much more work than it used to be. I remember in middle school and elementary, we would just have to read and write a simple essay. Now, we have to do presentations and reports and so much more extra stuff. It kinda takes all the pleasure out of reading now. You're also the say way as me. If a book is not interesting right off the bat, it is not worth the read in my opinion. However, I would like to read something from the Roald Dahl series just because you mentioned it. But other than that, so far I really like your blog and keep being your Jayonce self!

  2. Based on your blog so far, I really love your personality! I also love to laugh, so I'll be checking up on your updates every now and then. In terms of reading, I feel the same way. If a book fails to draw me in by the first chapter, I tend to put it away. I’m trying to change my stance on reading by reading more books of literary merit. Although reading is “mad work” as you said, I think it’ll be great to see the changes in our perspectives over the course of time. Overall, I can't wait to see the progression in your reading throughout the year. Side-note: Beyonce is queen!

  3. You’re so funny! Your humor is so refreshing and it seems really genuine too. There’s few things worse than people doing the absolute most in order to be funny. Also I love that you love BeyoncĂ©. Besides that, I definitely agree that reading has become really difficult as we’ve become older. When we read at an advance level, there is a lot that is expected from us and sometimes that can feel really overwhelming. There are quite a few times where I miss the easier books from previous years-Roald Dahl was also one of my favorite childhood authors although I was always a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory kind of kid. Anyways, I can’t wait to see more of your blogging.
